Saturday, August 30, 2008 is the date for the Back To School Health & Family Festival. If you're interested in sponsoring the event or becoming a vendor, please contact us or call 323 846-1645. Stand Up for the Children!Make a donation of one dollar ($1.00) per child and help us provide 10,000 underserved, at-risk children in our community with “FREE” immunizations, eye screenings, hearing exams, TB testing, blood pressure screenings, cholesterol testing, diabetes testing, dental check ups, enrollment of eligible children in the Healthy Families Program, and hair cuts to the children who attend in addition to, school supplies such as; paper, pens, pencils, notebooks, dictionaries, backpacks, shoes and gift certificates for uniforms are provided while supplies last. We have an obligation to our children, who are our future. Education is free, but the tools to maximize its’ benefits are not. Won’t you “Stand Up for the Children” and make your donation today!

respect me coalition
The Respect Me Coalitiion is calling for the elimination of demeaning images and offensive language used to depict, and describe African American women, and for the promotion of both respectful and truthful representations by those in the media and in their communities. Females of all ages are being urged to stand in solidarity to give voice to the issue of respect through various degrees of activism. Political, economic, social and faith-based organizations are being encouraged to support this historic effort to bring about positive changes to the treatment of women. The Respect Me Coalition seeks to engage media executives, artists,a nd consumers in dialogue to discuss their respective roles in perpetuating this continuous assault.
